I am a Washington, DC based photographer, originally hailing from New England.
I’ve always loved travel and being outdoors, but it took a surprisingly long time for me to realize that my biggest passion was landscape photography. My background could charitably be called, “well rounded,” but the truth is I just shot whatever entertained me in the moment. Street photography, weddings & portrait sessions, macro, self portraiture, a throwback to film (usually expired)… all of it got tried on over the years. In the end, it was a trip to Iceland that made me realize nothing beat the feeling of being out in nature. Nothing had the same emotional impact as the scale and beauty of the mountains; the feeling of being so small yet so connected.
I still shoot in cities, I still dabble in film now and again, and any day out with my camera is a good one. Put me in the mountains, though, and I’m in my element.
